Smart Square ThedaCare Login: Step-by-Step Guide

If you work at ThedaCare in Wisconsin, your shifts live in Smart Square — and the Smart Square ThedaCare login is the door to your schedule. ThedaCare runs its own branded Smart Square portal for staff scheduling across its Wisconsin hospitals. This guide walks you through signing in step by step, on a computer and on your phone, plus what to do when the login does not work. Every step below is checked against the official portal.

What you need before you log in

• Your ThedaCare username — the sign-in details ThedaCare issued you when your account was set up.
• Your password — the password for your ThedaCare account.
• Your phone — if your account uses verification, you will confirm the sign-in after entering your password.

New to ThedaCare? There is no self sign-up for Smart Square — the portal has no registration button, and accounts are created for staff by the health system. If you have never been given login details, ask your manager; no website can create an account for you.

Smart Square ThedaCare login: step by step (computer)

1. Open the official login page: thedacare.smart-square.com.
2. Choose “Continue to SmartSquare”. (If you normally use the other route, choose “Alternate Login” instead — use the one that matches how you usually sign in.)
3. Enter your username and password. Check caps lock — passwords are case-sensitive.
4. Complete any verification prompt if one appears.
5. You land on your Smart Square home screen, where you can view your schedule, pick up open shifts, swap shifts and request time off.

Login on your phone: Smart Square Go

For phones, use the current app, Smart Square Go (by symplr) — older apps and look-alike listings are a common source of failed logins. The setup step most people miss:

1. Install Smart Square Go from your phone's app store.
2. When the app asks for your organisation, enter thedacare.smart-square.com.
3. Sign in with the same username and password, and complete any verification prompt.

Forgot your password?

Use the official reset page: Smart Square password reset. Enter the email the page asks for and follow the instructions you receive. Do not pay any site or call any number that offers to reset it for you — password resets are free and only happen on the official portal.

Login not working? Quick checks

• Caps lock / wrong details: retype your username and password carefully — passwords are case-sensitive.
• Verification prompt missed: the login may be waiting for your approval — complete the prompt, then try again if it timed out.
• App cannot find your organisation: the organisation URL must be exactly thedacare.smart-square.com.
• Still locked out: use the support route below — they can check your account; no guide site can.

ThedaCare support: read this before you call anyone

Unlike some health systems, ThedaCare does not print a support phone number or email on its Smart Square login page — we checked the official portal again on 28 October 2026 and there is none there. If you are locked out, go through your manager or your organisation's internal IT help route, the same way you would for any other work system.

Be careful with search results here: clone guide sites publish support numbers for ThedaCare that appear nowhere official. A number you cannot see on thedacare.smart-square.com itself should not be trusted with your account.

Stay safe: three rules

1. Only ever enter your ThedaCare password on thedacare.smart-square.com.
2. No guide site, forum or “support” chat should ever ask for your password — real support never does.
3. Bookmark the official login page so you never have to search for it and land on a copycat site.
